About 12 of us (5 guys and 7 women) went kayaking in the morning only to be greeted with strong currents and blusterous winds making for a great water adventure. Six of us made it out to Popoi'a Island, which normally would be a very non-eventful and short journey, but on this day, the strong winds and currents turned the water into an ocean treadmill for some. Others got tired and turned back to shore after a courageous attempt to overcome mother natures powers. For the rest of us, it was nice to reach our destination and relax for a bit before our afternoon hike.
By chance, Alice of Arradon DP also posted something on wind surfing today... http://arradondailyphoto.blogspot.com/2007/06/du-vent-et-des-voiles.html
Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Road to Haleiwa
A little late on posting but here is the answer to that unusual animal - its called a Chinese Silky! Some of you had some good guesses as to what this animal is. You can read about them here:
Someone also asked how many times I hike in a week - it varies, but on average, about two or three times depending on my coaching, work, paddling, and workout schedule.
Thanks for stopping by!

As for yesterday's post, Leena of JoensuuDP, Eastern Finland got the correct answer - it was indeed from the May 8th, 2007 posting, which is quite remarkable given she lives on the opposite side of the world - Very Nice!!!

Something a little different today ... In Waikiki, yesterday at 8:30 PM, there was a fireworks show by a company called The Royal Cosmetics Co. Ltd. from Tokyo who was celebrating their 20th anniversary. The fireworks were set on two barges off shore in the Pacific Ocean about 1 mile outside of Waikiki Beach. At the ending of the show was the world's largest single explosive firework, a 24" star-shell. The colors of the fireworks reflecting on the water with waves breaking is pretty kewl!
There's two videos below - I think the second video is better...
