Guys and Gals

IMG_0356900The canoe state championships took place this past Saturday on August 2nd, with canoe clubs representing all the Hawaiian islands gathering at Ke'ehi Lagoon, O'ahu for a day of short sprint races - 1/4 mile (402 m) to 1.5 miles (2.4 km) depending on the age group and gender. There's close to 40 events with the first event/race started at 9 AM, 12 year old girls.

Above is a photograph of the start of the women's Sophomore race - 1 mile.

Below is a photograph of the start of the men's Senior race - 1.5 miles (2.4 km).
