The road near my home

As promised, here is the road near my house. On the right side (not shown) is a community college and down the road is a "middle" school. Sometimes, at night you can hear people scream as they speed down this hill. Pic of that beach tomorrow! =)

This hill shot is inspired by Nicola's famous wine hill shot from her cable car ride.
Have a hill shot? let me know ;)

Cool, if you live on that hill you have this view all the time. How nice is that! Thanks for the link :).

Wow! a great perpective, Nicholas! I keep staring especially to the sea !:)

ps. about "panorama" -if your camera has panoramic mode, use this mode as its easier to handle. Mine (panasonic FZ7) has no such mode, so what I've done is take parallel movement shots (or you may use panning mode) then use programe Photostitch (by Canon) to stitch the shots together. You may cropped off the jaggered edges, but I didnt in my shot. Hope this helps :)

Yes, we also like the larger size and have been looking into it -- nice photo and the blue of the sea at the end of the road seems very peaceful. You chose a good place to be...

Hi - some people have asked me how I make the image display so large on Blogger. First off, sorry for the long explaination

By default, Blogger has three image size ranges - small, medium, and large. In pixel size, I believe this equates to 200px, 320px, 400px. So, this means we can bypass bloggers defaults by forcing the image size simply by adding a width property at the end of the img tag in the "edit html" tab when you create your post....width="550"

Here is an example Changing blogger image sizes

A second thing to note is that when you upload an image to Blogger, Blogger creates a second, smaller image (400 pixels), and that is the image displayed by default.

If you are going to use the width property to enlarge this default display it will appear blockish/pixelated, so, you need to change the image that is displayed which will be your uploaded image - represented by the "1600" image.

Look at your "edit html" code and you will see two img tags - one that has the number 1600 in it and another that has 400 - replace 400 with 1600.

Finally, if your template restricts or contraints the image size, you will need to enlarge the template area by looking for "#content" and "#main" and change their width properties - BEWARE - only do this after you have made a backup of your template code or BAD things can happen if you change the wrong things!

To make a backup - do a select all (control-A keys) - copy and paste into a text file - save to your computer.

Better yet, test on another blog that you do not care about. =)

Email me if you did not understand any of the above.

I also should note - if you do plan on changing your posts to larger images, for some people, this may cause problems with taking the page longer to load if their internet bandwidth connection is limited, so, out of consideration, I have changed the default number of days displayed on the main page to 7.
