YWCA - Laniakea

IMG_2365_1000Opened in 1927, this historical building served the community and Hawai'i well, esp. during WW II, when they refused to discriminate against black women who were employed as war workers.

Located in downtown Honolulu, today, the building is actively used for meetings, dining, fitness/ceramics classes, as well as swimming lessons.

Cool old building, an oasis from the hustle & bustle. Looks like the neighbor is a skyrise!
