Reflections

C.S. Lewis ... Part of every misery is, so to speak, the misery's shadow or reflection: the fact that you don't merely suffer but have to keep on thinking about the fact that you suffer. I not only live each endless day in grief, but live each day thinking about living each day in grief.

I think the best answer to this for me is to treat others the way I'd want to be treated...and to live each day like it could be my last...if I can go to sleep at nite with a clear conscience then I've done the best for me...wow, was that heavy enuff? ;-) Nice shot by the way...and which one do you subscribe to?   14. Samethought as Kate, but opposite end of the temporal spectrum - too late..zzzzz However, you really set us an immense question. For me, it's Thomas Paine that I can most easily see myself in. From too early an age, it's been the way all the way - not all distress, but too much. However, by always reflecting on it & what it means, I believe it's also brought a rich, wonderful, lucky life. Don't wait for the call, just be there when those around you are in distress and give, give, give without expecting anything back. Simply 'cos of understanding that others gothrough pain too. A great way to go to sleep witha clear conscience...And a good nightfrom me to you!

  18. this was pretty deep - so deep I had to reflect on this - but i guess I would go with Edgar Allans Poems - poems worth a reflection for a lifetime:

    In visions of the dark night

  19. I only come here for your beautiful pictues. I didn't know you were going to make me think today as well!

    The biggest reflection of me would have to be my girls. I see so much of myself in them,how I look, my expressions and form of speech. Yet they go off in their own way as well. That is also a reflection of how I have raised them.
