Trump Tower Waikiki
This photo was taken today at around 5:05 PM while on my canoe. Surf on the south side was predicted to be as high as 8 feet, however, the surf size never materialized.
In the center of the photo is the construction of the (Donald) Trump International Hotel and Tower with a planned 135 units as large as 3,000 square feet, and another 325 hotel units, costing between half a million to 6 million each. All units were sold within the first day of sales. Completion of this building is slated for 2009.

I have never been here out to sea looking in like you were when you took this photograph. However, if I look at the small white building to the left of your canoe that looks like it is the area where a hotel was in 1955 we called the Pink Elephant. I stayed there one night. And, on this side of the street was Waikiki Beach and to the right from here would be Diamond Head. Maybe this is not even the right area and all but it just reminded me of that scene and how it would have looked out here in the ocean back then. It is a nice photograph and would scare the daylights out of me to be there that far from land. Wow.
have you reserved one unit for yourself?
=)
great to see the city from the canoeist point of view, gives the viewer completely different perspective.
have a great week ahead Kala!
That is a way too expensive for me.
Fantastic view Kala, as usual :)
Some vantage point and quite a view!
I think that some people are making way too much money... Most of the big ticket luxury condos sold in Boston are never occupied. They are merely investment opportunities...
hi.. havent been here in a while. your photos are as breathtaking as ever. esp. love the one with the rainbow.
Wow! What a great view! Nice you stopped paddling long enough to take the photo...but I don't think I would even have taken my camera out there!!!!!!

Guelph Daily Photo, My Photos.
Great view of the skyline and beautiful exposure. Is your camera water proofed? I'd be afraid it might end up in Davy Jones's locker.
Beautiful photos! Wouldn't it be nice to be able to slap down a couple of million a unit!
Where do people get this kind of money? It baffles me.
Great shot! I love the fact that we can see the tip of your canoe.
always a pleasure to follow your eye :-)
This is a really greeeaaaat photo!!!
