Theme Day: Something that will disappear soon

With more private residences deciding to block off/chain-up public beach access ways adjacent to their homes, there will be less and less access to the prime beaches!

Surfing-that is one thing I am dying to try. The reef is bad here; they say you have to know the perfect spot if you want to surf. I'm still hoping to try though. We don't have cable, so we have to settle for LOST on DVD. I will let you know about the memory card. The day I got the camera back, I left it at someones house who has gone off island. I am waiting for her family to bring it to me b/c my car is unable to get back to her house. It's frustrating, but I will let you know as soon I can. Thanks for much for offering to help me with this!

Good to see you coming in on the theme - I make you 58th, although 4 of the DPs who said they'd be in have yet to post.

That is so sad to see a wall blocking off access to a beautiful beach!

People are always trying to own the unownable.

But as Hendrix sang, "Sandcastles built on sand melt into the sea, eventually..."

On a more positive note, I'll be in Oahu on Friday night. Can't wait to blow this popsicle stand.

Nice idea for a theme Kala! How many prime beaches does Hawaii have? If you asked me they all seem pretty sweet! I guess the less crowed with tourists the better.
