Summer Colors

From the ocean, we return back to the land where the colors of summer can be seen all around us. The red flowers in the photo comes from the Royal Poinciana tree that is actually native to Madagascar.

I just noticed Midnightbara also posted some summer flowers - check it out here =)

such colours! if it wasn't for the 'little' birdy and the mountains in the background, i would've taken this for somewhere in the swiss alps during summer.

You know, we just saw ducks like that yesterday here in San Antonio at a university campus. They almost have turkey faces!

Anyway, I love the red flowering tree/bush in the background. So vibrant!

Of all your photos, it's one of my favorites. Why? Don't know! It's a departure from all the breathtaking water photos, but in its own way, it is just as lovely! I like the variety: background, foreground, and, of course, that saucy duck.

Hi - these are indeed ducks and the photo was taken near the Hawai'i Kai Marina on the south side of the island near my house - I thought they resembled turkeys as well and the colors are so awesome - thanks for coming by =)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!

The SKY is falling--the SKY is falling!

Who's gonna run with me? And the two ducks said, "We're NOT!"

OK, then I'll RUN AWAY MYSELF!

Not enough sleep for me I guess, LOL!

;-)

PS: Great shot BTW, did I expect anything less? :-)

Great colors Kala! I too was wondering if this was a duck or a turkey. Are these pets or food? Have you heard of a turducken? - turkey stuffed with duck stuffed with chicken!

HI Felicia - I haven't heard of that Turduken but I'm sure it tastes like chicken =) and these duck thingies are actually wild protected creatures that people are forbidden to harm =)
