Children's School Needs Help

University Lab Elementary Schools 67 year old building, that served the physical education, drama and music department for children ages 4 and up, went up in flames yesterday afternoon causing $6.5 million dollars in damages and leaving nothing left to recover. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured due in part to summer school ending at noon when the fire started at ~3:45 PM. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Fifty firemen were required to fight the fire. The school is located right across the street from the University.

It's good to know the kids were already out. My cellar caught fire about 6 months ago and it still gives me the shivers to think about it (it happened at night when everyone was asleep).
LOVE the tattoo picture.

We were effected by the massive Sainte Maxime forest fire of 2002, we only lost our garden but many people lost there homes and several people died. I will never forget that day we spent the night on the beach worrying about our eldest son and his girl friend, and wondering if we still had a house. I do hope the kids get a brand new building ready for next term, and at least nobody was hurt.

Anyone who has seen or been in a fire now is terrified even at the word. The contrast between the buildings in the background and the devastated school drives home the damage. Hate to say this, but the picture is very good---of a very sad event! As a former teacher myself, I grieve for the school community.
