This shot's so great with the single tree and the island on the background! Great and refreshing one! Once again it's a cool one Dana! Thanks to you and Kala for sharing all this! It's a pleasure to some here everyday! Have a great week-end! :)
Thank you for posting a shot of Mokoli'i - I just think it's so mice with its sharp fin looking edges - I would have called that island "shark below" or something... Grea shot! I can almost feel the trade wind!...
Dana...great shot! The last time I saw this was in '78 when I was first in the Islands...and when my family and I drove around the island (thru the tunnel into Kailua, not the long way--but we DID take the trolley down to all the scenic sights the day before!) I saw and remembered this little island! When I blurted out the "Chinaman's Hat" name my 17yo said, "MOM! Real nice...you sound like a racist!" I had to tell him that this is the NAME...and by the way, I'm married to a "Chinaman!" GEEZ! Kids these days, LOL! ;-)
It's true these images are superior quality; my jaw dropped open the first time I came across this blog. But I come back not only for that, but for the warmth, humor, and charm of our hosts ;).

ReplyDeleteHmmm, also looks a little like Gandalf's hat. I agree with Celine--love the composition of this photo.
ReplyDeleteI HATE your blog. Sometimes I think you take this picture only to make me and liz green with envy ;-)
ReplyDeleteOk, Liz went to see your videoblog and now it's maybe the 20th time I listen to "good vibrations" while she pretends to be surfing on the couch ;-)
ReplyDeleteUnlikeother DP Blogs this site sports some fairly high quality images.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
