Japanese White-eye

More bird pictures ... This feathered friend is called a Japanese white-eye. They are very common and widespread on all main islands, in both dry and wet habitats, from sea level to tree line. Origanally introduced from Japan to O'ahu in 1929 and to Hawai'i in 1937; it is also known by its Japanese name, Mejiro.

    I like the big picture, but the small one is just great... did you tape the little guy there to sit still? It's amazing how small they are, wonderful little birds!!!

    LOL - we did not torture the poor guy to sit there in one place - I think he may have fallen off the nest - sadly - but he was still moving about so we just moved with him and took the shot really fast.
