King Kamehameha Trivia
This past Monday was a state holiday in recognition of King Kamehameha. My friend took the picture above of the King Kamehameha statue, draped in leis, and standing tall (see the people below?) and impressive in front of Aliʻiōlani Hale (home of the Hawai'i State Supreme Court - and translates to "house of the heavenly king").

- What happened to the first statue? Hint: Past tense of sink
- Where does it reside now?
- Where are the other three King Kamehameha statues located?
- Where did the decisive battle take place? Hint: Over 800 skulls were found at the base of this cliff.

An interesting picture and post this morning. I remember walking past this building and statue but it was over fifty years ago. 52 to be exact.

Just amazing!
I love this statue! When I saw it, however, it wasn't draped. I went inside and had my photo taken sitting in one of the Supreme Court Justices Chairs (gift for my attorney husband). The guard thought it was a hoot!!
