A Beautiful Day
It's always a beautiful day when its a holiday - actually, election day. This photo was taken today at 11:30 AM near the lookout.
It was also a day of change as Americans across the country defiantly voted for change. The Neo-Cons and the Evangelical votes have shifted their loyalties and have begun to question their leaders course of action while the President keeps reiterating "we are staying the course," and "we are winning the war in Iraq," while record number of Shiites, Sunnis, and American soldiers are dying in Iraq as the country is spiraling into a civil war.
Do we really want to stay the course? Has invading Iraq made life safer for all citizens around the world?

You are so fortunate to wake up every day in Hawaii. But you know that. Gorgeous panorama. I love what you wrote. There's no room for hate.
you did it again, kala! my mouth was open for a few seconds as the photo downloads..yes, breathaking!
ps. i read Hilary wish to run for the next president. I really would like to see whats she 's made of.
I've got to come here every morning to start my day. Your photos are so delightful.
And yes, change is in the air. Now we must all continue our work of telling the candidates what we want from them.
c'est deprimant, ici brouillard et legere pluie et puis on ouvre ton blog et voila....
it is depressing, here fog and light rain and then one opens your blog and veiled….
I'm buying a ticket to reach you in this heaven kala! :-)
Great panoramic photo today ... As the result of the US elections there is a change in control but I doubt if there will be a change in direction.
Gorgeous photo and nice celebratory photo. I am happy about the change in the House but we all will wait anxiously to see what actions are taken.
Kala, once again I agree. I am so excited abou the election. My state seems to be turning a shade of Blue and more good news today-Mr. Rum is stepping down!
Kala, I agree. And I love the MLK quote. I hope Louz recognizes when he says "how arrogant of them" that "them" is the leaders who made the catastrophic choices and not us regular folk. Somehow most of us could see what would happen if we invaded... why couldn't "they??"
Ah Kala your words go straight to my heart!
As for the photo, you peformed the miracle of the south seas for us once again. I'm starting to see a daily visit here as a necessity!
man, what i would give to be able to jump into that ocean right now, instead of rain, rain, rain, endless dark grey skies, and wearing lots of wool...
and what a beautiful MLK quote--i'm a little hopeful about our political climate but afraid to be really hopeful.
simply great shot! i love this....one of my favourite colours...turquoise...!!:D
i like your words on this one!
and thumbs up for the view.
